House of the Dragon is returning for its second season this summer, and HBO found a perfect way to build the hype. The Season 2 release date has been confirmed in two new trailers, which are inviting you to pick your side between Black and Green.

The “Black” trailer is told from the perspective of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), who believes that the Iron Throne is rightfully hers. She’s gathering allies and getting ready to fight King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), who usurped the throne after the death of their father King Viserys.

The “Green” trailer sees the Hightowers doing everything in their power to keep Aegon on the Iron Throne. His mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) will do whatever it takes to convince everyone he’s one true king, claiming it was King Viserys’s wish for Aegon to succeed him.

Season 2 will also see Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans return to their respective roles. They’ll be joined by newcomers Abubakar Salim, Freddie Fox, Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, and Clinton Liberty, among others.

New trailers also confirmed that House of the Dragon is coming back to HBO on June 16, with eight new episodes airing weekly.
