HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” Gets Its First Trailer

Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett-Bell in "Lovecraft Country"

The first trailer for HBO’s Lovecraft Country has been released. JJ AbramsĀ has teamed up with Get Out’s Jordan Peele for a new series and it looks like it will follow Peele’s signature “social thriller”. It will mix cosmic horror with racist terror in 1950’s America and it looks like it will be just as terrific as Get Out and Us.

Lovecraft Country follows “Atticus Black as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father,” the official synopsis reads.

“This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.”

Jonathan Majors will star as Atticus Black and Jurnee Smollett-Bell will join him as co-star Letitia Dandridge. It looks like Lovecraft Country may well be the HBO hit of the year.
