HBO’s “Watchmen” Is Unlikely To Return For Season Two

According to creator Damon Lindelof, Watchmen is unlikely to return for a second season.

Lindelof adapted Alan Moore’s popular graphic novel for the small screen, and the first season wrapped up last month. Now, the creator has revealed that he is not interested in continuing the show for a second season.

HBO’s programming president, Casey Bloys, has since shared that the show is unlikely to carry on without Lindelof. “It’s really in Damon’s thinking about what he wants to do,” Bloys said in a statement. “If there’s an idea that excited him about another season, another installment, maybe like a FargoTrue Detective [anthology-type] take on it, or if he wants to do something different altogether.”

He added: “We’re very proud of Watchmen, but what I’m most interested in [is] what Damon wants to do. It would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way.”

Even though Lindelof has given HBO his blessing to continue the series without him, it thus seems unlikely that Watchmen will be back for season number 2.
