The future of Netflix’s beloved coming-of-age series Heartstopper has been uncertain since Season 3 wrapped up, but we finally know what’s next. The streaming giant won’t renew it for Season 4, and they’re planning to conclude Nick and Charlie’s love story with a Netflix movie.
Alice Oseman, who created this series based on her own graphic novel of the same name, announced its story will conclude with a feature-length film.
“I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story. I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion,” said Oseman in a statement.
The final chapter of the Heartstopper story will see Nick and Charlie struggling with the reality of a long-distance relationship, as Nick prepares to leave for university, while Charlie is finding new independence at school.
In addition to Kit Connor and Joe Locke as Nick and Charlie, the cast of Heartstopper also included Yasmin Finney, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Rhea Norwood, and Olivia Colman. Netflix is yet to announce who’ll be back for the feature-length film.
