The cancelation of the wrestling drama Heels was a true gut punch for its fans, but its future is looking a little bit brighter. Netflix picked up the show following Starz’s cancelation, with an option of renewing it for a third season if the stars’ schedules allow.

Heels is set in the world of small-town pro wrestling, and it sees two brothers and rivals waring over their late father’s legacy in their close-knit Georgia community. Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) plays the bad guy in the ring, known as “the heel”, while his younger brother Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig) gets to be the good guy, and they sometimes struggle to leave these characters behind.

Heels ran for two seasons on Starz, and it finally found a new home after Netflix signed a licensing agreement with Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group. Renewing it for Season 3 is also an option, but it all comes down to the busy schedules of its leading duo – Stephen Amell is getting ready to lead Suits: L.A. while Ludwig landed a key role in Earth Abides at MGM+.

Heels was created by Michael Waldron, and it also starred Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison, Roxton Garcia, Chris Bauer, Robby Ramos, and Trey Tucker.
