The Yellowstone franchise is expanding at Paramount+ and its highly-anticipated prequel 1923 is just around the corner. The new teaser trailer for this series is here and it stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford in the lead roles.

1923 serves as the second prequel to Yellowstone following 1883, and it’s set to “explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.”

The new installment of the Dutton’s origin story will center on the patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren), as they try to lead the family through many hardships during this difficult time in American history.

In addition to the two Hollywood veterans in the lead roles, 1923 will also star Darren Mann (Animal Kingdom), Michelle Randolph (A Snow White Christmas), James Badge Dale (Hightown), Marley Shelton (Scream), Brian Geraghty (Big Sky), Aminah Nieves (Blueberry) and Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones)

The trailer for 1923 was released during the Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone on Sunday night. The show itself will arrive at Paramount+ on December 18, and it’s expected to run for two seasons with eight episodes each.
