The Directors Guild of America is the latest organization to reward their best and brightest this award season, and some of our favorite TV shows made the cut. The list of DGA Awards winners in the television categories includes Homeland, The Flight Attendant, and The Queen’s Gambit.
This award ceremony was the last hurrah for Homeland, which wrapped up last April. The series finale was going head to head against episodes of Ozark, Better Call Saul, Bridgerton, and The Mandalorian but still managed to win the award for best direction in a drama series.
The race in the comedy category was just as competitive, but The Flight Attendant eventually came out victorious. The list of contenders also included two separate episodes of Ted Lasso and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The Queen’s Gambit’s Scott Frank picked up the award for the best direction in a TV movie or a limited series. The Netflix chess drama was up against The Undoing, Hamilton, Little Fires Everywhere, and WandaVision.
The awards were announced during a virtual ceremony that took place on April 10th.
