Heroes is remembered as one of the most popular superhero dramas of the 2000s, and its journey will soon continue. Tim Kring, the creator of the original series, is plotting a reboot titled Heroes: Eclipsed.

The new chapter of the Heroes story will be set years after the original show, and it will see a new group of people discovering powers that will change their lives. Familiar villains and new enemies will stand in their way and try to stop their reign, and it will be up to the group of new heroes to save the day.

This logline echoes the premise of the limited spin-off series Heroes Reborn, which ran for 13 episodes on NBC in 2015, and saw a group of ordinary people trying to save the world after learning they have extraordinary abilities.

King was confident they could expand this story even before Heroes Reborn came out, and he’s returning as the executive producer of the new reboot.

“I’ve always felt that the brand was elastic enough and a broad enough premise. It’s a show about ordinary people with extraordinary powers… I feel confident that we can find more story to tell with some returning characters and new ones,” King told Variety at the time.

Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Ali Larter led the cast of the original series, but it’s unclear if any of them would return for the reboot.
