Janelle Monáe is heading to Homecoming.

The first season of the Sam Esmail series told the story of an elusive facility called Homecoming, which appeared to assist US veterans in dealing with their experiences in combat.

Julia Roberts led the show, earning herself a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Drama, and the series also earned a nomination for Best Drama.

Roberts already confirmed that she would not be returning for the second season, with the lead role now being taken over by Monáe.

Best known as a singer responsible for songs like “Yoga,” the 33-year-old has also starred in films such as Hidden Figures and Moonlight.

She will play a woman who finds herself floating in a canoe with no recollection of how she got there or even who she is.

Despite not starring in the Amazon show, which is based on a podcast, Roberts will continue in the role of executive producer.
