The Sandman is returning for its second season on Netflix, and Tom Sturridge will be in pretty good company once it comes back. Several major players have been added to the Season 2 cast, including Indya Moore, Douglas Booth, Ruairi O’Connor, and Jack Gleeson.
Season 2 will see the King of Dreams (Tom Sturridge) come face-to-face and go toe-to-toe with the formidable rulers of Hell, Asgard, Faerie, and the realms beyond – and we finally know who’s going to play some of these characters.
Clive Russell (Game of Thrones) joined the cast as Odin, the ruler of Asgard and Dream’s longtime ally, who finds himself driven to desperate extremes in his efforts to stave off Ragnarök. Laurence O’Fuarain (The Gentlemen) and Freddie Fox (Slow Horses) will play his sons Thor and Loki.
Ruairi O’Connor (The Morning Show) is also one of the latest additions to the cast, and he’ll play Dream’s son Orpheus. His character has been described as “an idealistic, romantic, young man – and very much his father’s son – until tragedy strikes and reveals to him the true nature of love.”
Ann Skelly (The Nevers) and Douglas Booth (The Dirt) will join them as Nuala and Cluracan, siblings and royal emissaries from the court of Faerie. Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) was cast as King Auberon’s jester Puck, Indya Moore (Pose) will play security agent Wanda, while Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge) will voice Barnabas, the canine companion of the Endless’s brother Prodigal.
