The second season of Interview with the Vampire is ending its run this week, and we’ll soon get to sink our teeth into more new episodes. AMC Network’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic novel is officially coming back for its gloriously bloody third season.
Interview with the Vampire chronicles the complicated relationship between Louis de Pointe du Lac and the enigmatic Lestat de Lioncourt, who turned him into a vampire, as told through the eyes of veteran journalist Daniel Molloy.
According to AMC’s official logline, Season 3 will see Lestat frustrated by his perfunctory portrayal in the trashy best-seller Interview with the Vampire. He decides to set the record straight by putting together his own band and hitting the road for their first tour.
Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios confirmed the show’s renewal for Season 3 and praised its creative team for exceeding their wildest expectations.
“We can’t wait to see where this creative team takes the series from here and know we are walking alongside an incredibly loyal and passionate base of fans who feel as strongly about this material as we do,” said McDermott in a statement.
In addition to renewing Interview with the Vampire, AMC is working on the second season of Mayfair Witches, and they expanded the Anne Rice Immortal Universe with the recently announced new series The Talamasca.
