Leroy Jethro Gibbs has led the team on the CBS show since 2003 and has remained the constant factor despite other cast members departing.
But it appears now as though we may have to learn to navigate the waters without Agent Gibbs…
Relax, the 67-year-old is not leaving the series — but he is taking a break.
While NCIS is likely to be renewed for a 17th season, Harmon will probably only be there for part of it as he intends to take some time out to be with his family.
The actor has been married to Mork & Mindy star, Pam Dawber, since 1987 and the pair plan to take a European trip to celebrate their 35th anniversary. The vacation will include visits to Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany.
Sounds like a well-deserved holiday!
