We’ve seen many Hollywood A-listers make a transition to TV in recent years, and Jake Gyllenhaal will soon make that shift. His new series Presumed Innocent is coming to Apple TV+ next month, and the new trailer sees him trying to prove he’s not a killer.
Apple TV’s official logline describes Presumed Innocent as the gripping series that “takes viewers on a journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich is suspected of the crime.”
The façade of Sabich’s seemingly perfect life begins to crumble when his colleague Carolyn Polhemus is found dead. He emerges as the main suspect and must fight to hold his family and marriage together after the truth of their volatile affair comes to light.
In addition to Gyllenhaal in the lead role, this legal drama also stars Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, Lily Rabe, and Renate Reinsve. David E. Kelley created the series for Apple TV+ and serves as one of the executive producers alongside J. J. Abrams, Gyllenhaal, Dustin Thomason, Ben Stephenson, Matthew Tinker, Sharr White, and Anne Sewitsky.
Presumed Innocent will feature eight episodes streaming weekly on Apple TV+ following the two-episode premiere on June 12.
