From Goliath to Watchmen, James Wolk starred in some pretty amazing shows in recent years, and he’s gearing up for a role in another one. Wolk is the latest star to join Dennis Quaid in the upcoming Paramount+ true crime drama series Happy Face.

This series will center on a notorious serial killer known as “Happy Face” because he enjoyed drawing smiley faces on evidence where he bragged about his crimes. His story will be told from the point of view of his daughter Melissa Moore (Annaleigh Ashford), who must come to terms with his past after discovering the impact her father had on his victims’ families.

Wolk joined the project as Melissa’s husband, described as “a bank manager by day, marathon-trainer by night.” He’s fully aware of Melissa’s carefully hidden secret but struggles to accept the full reality of it after Melissa’s father tries to insert himself back into her life because he feels she’s being manipulated by a conniving sociopath.

Wolk’s track record on TV is pretty impressive, and his rise to prominence started with his roles in The Crazy Ones and Mad Men during the early 2010s. He went on to star in Zoo, Tell Me a Story, and Watchmen, and most recently led the NBC drama Ordinary Joe.
