The Good Wife franchise is constantly expanding, and another spin-off set in this universe is on the way. The Carrie Preston-led series Elsbeth rounded out an impressive list of guest stars, including Jane Krakowski, Linda Lavin, Retta, and Blair Underwood.

This spin-off series will center on Preston’s character Elsbeth Tascioni, described as “an astute but unconventional attorney who makes unique observations and corners brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD.”

This series will see her leave a successful career in Chicago behind to move to New York, where she must adjust to working with charismatic and revered leaders, Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce), and Officer Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), a stoic officer who comes to appreciate her insightful and offbeat ways.

They’ll be joined by Krakowski (30 Rock) as high-powered Manhattan real estate broker Joann, Retta (Good Girls) in the role of New York’s top matchmaker Margo, Linda Lavin (Alice) as the co-op board president Gloria, and Underwood (Quantico), a tennis coach who makes a murderous mistake while trying to help his son rise through the ranks.

Elsbeth will premiere on CBS on February 29, and the first season will feature 10 new episodes. It’s the second spin-off set in The Good Wife universe, following the success of the legal drama The Good Fight, led by Christine Baranski.
