There is life after Supernatural — and it’s in Texas.

Jared Padalecki has been tapped to star in a reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger which ran for almost 200 episodes between 1993 and 2001.

The 37-year-old would take over the role made famous by Chuck Norris. The martial artist starred as the titular member of the Texas Ranger Division who uses his martial art skills as a means to fight crime around the state.

The reboot will focus on Walker as he returns from years undercover, now a widower and father of two. He begins fighting crime with a new partner, who is one of the only female Rangers in history.

Padalecki is soon set to conclude his 15 year run on Supernatural during which he starred as one of the Winchester brothers alongside Jensen Ackles.

If the Walker reboot goes ahead, Padalecki will not only star, but executive produce, as well.
