Jenna Ortega became a household name thanks to Netflix’s hit series Wednesday, and she can’t wait to return for its second season. The Emmy-nominated actress recently shared some exciting news about the show’s next chapter, and said it will feel like a movie and lean more into horror.

Ortega recently attended the Primetime Emmy Awards, after making history as the second-youngest nominee for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series. She eventually lost to Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, but it was still a joyous occasion for the young actress, who shared some exciting news about Season 2 of Wednesday on the red carpet.

“I’ve received some scripts now for the second season, and we’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror… There’s some really good one-liners and I think everything is bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. I think each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie,” said Ortega while being interviewed by Laverne Cox.

Season 2 of Wednesday still doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s expected to kick off production in Ireland this April. In addition to Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Emma Myers, Moosa Mostafa, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Fred Armisen are also expected to return in Season 2.
