It was announced in June that Jennifer Morrison would be joining the latest season of This Is Us.
At the time, the role which the Once Upon a Time actress would be playing was being kept under wraps, with producers only saying she would be a major recurring character with a “substantial presence.”
We now know that Morrison is portraying a military veteran suffering from PTSD, named Cassidy — a part which she says she fought hard to get.
This was not something that was just like offered to me — I had to fight for this,” the actress told to Entertainment Weekly. “I love the show. I’m a fan of the show, and I’ve heard that there was a great guest arc coming for a strong female and [series creator] Dan Fogelman auditions everybody. Everybody auditions for the show. My team came to me and they were like, ‘Is this something that you would want enough that you’d be willing to read for?’ And I said, ‘Uhhh, yeah!’”
While it is not yet known how long Cassidy will be in town, it’s rumored that she will be the new love interest for Justin Hartley’s Kevin.
