It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jenny Slate play a major live-action TV role, and she’s finally gearing up for a comeback. She’s set to star opposite Michelle Williams in FX’s limited series Dying For S-x, which hails from Liz Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock.

Based on the hit Wondery podcast, this limited series will center on a middle-aged woman Molly, who decides to leave her husband of 15 years and embark on an intimate journey of self-discovery after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.

Liz Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock teamed up to write this series for FX, while Leslye Headland will be in charge of directing it. They all have overall deals with 20th Television and will be credited as the show’s executive producers.

Slate will join Williams in the role of Molly’s best friend, the joyful and life-affirming Nikki, who stays by her side every step of the way. After Molly leaves her husband, Nilki agrees to become her caretaker and support her daring journey in the face of death.

Slate’s recent credits include the romantic comedy I Want You Back and the Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once. She’ll next appear in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s hit novel It Ends with Us alongside Blake Lively.
