Justin Hartley has been doing a great job leading the CBS crime drama Tracker, and he’ll soon be joined by another great cast member. Supernatural star Jensen Ackles will play his estranged brother in this series, and Hartley announced this “perfect casting choice” on social media.

This Is Us star Hartley had previously been cast in this project as Coolter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who uses his expert tracking skills to solve mysteries around the country. Ackles will play his estranged brother Russell Shaw, and Hartley announced his casting in a recent clip on Instagram.

Ackles will play a guest role in this project, and his character will be introduced in the season’s penultimate episode “Off the Books”. According to CBS’ synopsis, Colter will enlist Russell’s help to track down a former army buddy who’s gone missing after several weeks of paranoid behavior, leading them down the rabbit hole of shady off-the-books programs and conspiracy theories.

Jensen Ackles rose to prominence while playing Dean Winchester in the dark fantasy drama series Supernatural and later appeared in its spin-off The Winchesters. We’ve most recently seen him play Soldier Boy in Amazon Prime Video’s hit superhero satire The Boys and make a cameo in its spin-off Gen V.
