Jeremy Renner took a break from acting to focus on his recovery from a snowplow accident last year, but he’s gearing up for a comeback. He recently revealed that he’ll return in Season 3 of the Paramount+ drama Mayor of Kingstown, set to kick off production this month.

Renner recently took to social media to share an Instagram story posted by his co-star Emma Laird. She captioned the photo by writing “back with my favorite guy next week”, suggesting that the third season will kick off production in early January.

He also addressed his return during a CNN interview on New Year’s Eve and said he feels ready to make a comeback in Season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown.

“It’s been a really wonderful, wonderfully busy year, and I think I’m ready. I think I’m strong enough. We’ll see. I mean, I literally go back in a week. But I’ll be doing my best, trying my hardest,” said Renner.

The Oscar-nominated actor took a break after suffering critical injuries in a snowplow accident last January. The second season of Mayor of Kingstown premiered on Paramount+ two weeks after his injury, and the show’s future was in limbo until Renner completed his recovery and confirmed he’ll be back for another season.
