Jesse Williams’ filmography includes such hits as Grey’s Anatomy and Only Murders In The Building, and he’s currently gearing up for the next big thing. He landed the lead role in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Italian drama series Costiera, which he’ll also produce.
Costiera will center on a former marine Daniel De Luca, who returns to his home country of Italy and becomes a fixer for a luxurious hotel on the Positano coastline. He must put all of his skills to some good use after one of the owner’s daughters disappears, and do whatever it takes to bring her home.
Adam Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Fargo) will be in charge of directing this project, and he said it’s an amazing opportunity to join forces with Williams.
“I’ve always admired his work – both on stage and screen, and he’s the first actor that came to my mind for the role of Daniel De Luca. Jesse provides a perfect combination of intelligence, charisma, and humor, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him at the center of our show,” said Bernstein in a statement.
Williams is fresh off starring in the third season of the Hulu comedy series Only Murders In The Building, in addition to appearing in the romantic comedy Your Place or Mine just last year.
