Amazon Prime Video gave a green light to the thriller series The Better Sister, and its cast will be as star-studded as it gets. Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks will lead the cast of this promising project, based on Alafair Burke’s novel of the same name.
The Better Sister centers on two estranged sisters from different walks of life – Chloe (Biel), who is living her best life with her lawyer husband Adam and teenage son Ethan, and Nicky (Banks), who’s struggling to stay clean and make ends meet. They’re forced to reunite when Adam’s murder sends shockwaves through the family, laying bare long-buried secrets.
Olivia Milch wrote the pilot and serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Regina Corrado. Craig Gillespie will direct the series and also serve as one of the EPs along with both Banks and Biel.
Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television, Vernon Sanders, described The Better Sister as a gripping story about family feuds and forgiveness and said they’re looking forward to joining forces with its talented team.
“The brilliant duo of Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks are sure to bring these characters to life in the most authentic way alongside Olivia, Regina, Craig, and the talented team at Tomorrow Studios,” said Sanders in a statement.
