Jessica Lange Reveals Whether She Will Return To “American Horror Story”

Jessica Lange in "American Horror Story"

American Horror Story‘s (AHS) Jessica Lange has discussed the likelihood of her returning to the show.

The award-winning actress first appeared in season one of the show. She appeared in three consecutive seasons after Murder House and then took a three-season hiatus from the series. In the dramatic cross-over season Apocalypse, Lange reprised her role as Constance Langdon. But will she be returning in any of the seasons to come?

“I don’t think I would want to start from scratch and create a character,” Lange told The Wrap.

“And also I think a lot of the actors that I was working with, people that I really love working with, like Sarah [Paulson] or Frances [Conroy] or Kathy [Bates] – I don’t know who’s in this new season [1984], but I don’t think it would be the same.

“We were like a troupe. We were like the old-fashioned kind of troupe of actors, just moving from one part to the other. And that was part of what I really loved about doing it was you’d come back with a whole different story, different characters, but the same actors year after year. And that was wonderful.

“But I don’t think that would be the case now and I don’t think I would want to start over from scratch really. I don’t think that will happen.”

The bad news is that it sounds like Lange is unlikely to return to the AHS universe. The good news, however, is that American Horror Story: 1984 premiered last night.
