Jimmy Kimmel established himself as one of the most popular late-night talk show hosts working today, but he’s thinking about taking his career in a new direction. The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently revealed he’s thinking about retiring from late-night TV in the near future.

Kimmel recently set down for an interview with The Los Angeles Times, and said he believes his current Jimmy Kimmel Live! contract with ABC could be his last.

“I hate to even say it because everyone’s laughing at me now — each time I think that, and then it turns out to be not the case. I still have a little more than two years left on my contract, and that seems pretty good. That seems like enough,” explained Kimmel.

The popular television host didn’t reveal what he intends to do after leaving Jimmy Kimmel Live! behind, but said he’s looking forward to carving out some more time for his hobbies, from cooking and drawing to learning to do sculptures.

Kimmel has been a part of the late-night landscape since 2003, when his talk show initially aired on ABC. He also hosted the Academy Awards on three separate occasions, and he’s getting ready to do it again this year.
