John Krasinski and Matthew Rhys are no strangers to fronting hit TV shows, and they’ll soon get a chance to do it together. They will lead the series killer drama Silent River, which landed a series order at Amazon Prime Video.

According to its official logline, Silent River will be told “through the lens of two men, whose lives are far more connected than they realize” and explore “the cracks of small-town America in the wake of discovering a serial killer among them.”

In addition to playing lead roles in this series, Krasinski and Rhys are coming on board as executive producers alongside Aaron Rabin, who created this series for Amazon. Krasinski will direct the pilot and additional episodes of this series, developed under the newly-renewed first-look deal between Amazon MGM Studios and his and Allyson Seeger’s production company Sunday Night.

John Krasinski rose to prominence during his time on the cult NBC sitcom The Office and went on to play the titular role in Prime Video’s Jack Ryan. He made a transition to directing in recent years and found success with A Quiet Place franchise.

Matthew Rhys is best known as the Emmy-winning star of the spy drama The Americans. He recently led the acclaimed HBO series Perry Mason and had a small voice role in Krasinski’s latest film IF.
