The Agency is shaping up to be one of Showtime’s most star-studded series in recent years, and another acclaimed actor just hopped on board. John Magaro joined the A-list ensemble of this espionage drama in a key supporting role.
The Agency draws inspiration from the French drama series Le Bureau des Legendes, and it centers on Martian, a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London, where he finds himself stuck in a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage after his past lover reappears in his life.
Michael Fassbender, the Oscar-nominated star of Steve Jobs, will lead the cast as Martian, alongside Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) as Henry, Jodie Turner-Smith (The Acolyte) as Sami, Katherine Waterston (Perry Mason) as Noami, and Richard Gere (Pretty Woman) as Bosko. John Magaro is joining them as Owen, an operations officer and agent handler.
Magaro is fresh off starring in Celine Song’s Past Lives, which received an Oscar nomination for best picture earlier this year. His notable TV credits include roles in Orange Is the New Black, The Good Wife, Crisis in Six Scenes, Jack Ryan, and The Umbrella Academy. He also starred in acclaimed films The Big Short, Carol, First Cow, and The Many Saints of Newark.
