Taylor Sheridan is plotting his next Paramount+ drama, Landman, and its cast will be as star-studded as it gets. The Emmy winner Jon Hamm is the latest A-list star to join Billy Bob Thornton in this high-profile series.

Sheridan’s new series draws inspiration from the hit podcast Boomtown, and it’s been described as “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”

Landman will be set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and tell the tale of people seeking fortune in the world of oil rigs. One of those people is Hamm’s character Hamm Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who goes a long way back with Thornton’s Tommy Norris.

Demi Moore recently joined the star-studded cast of this series, which will also include the likes of Ali Larter (Resident Evil franchise), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Maze Runner franchise), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia).

Mad Men star Jon Hamm is fresh off starring in the latest seasons of the hit shows The Morning Show, Fargo, and Good Omens and the musical remake of the teen classic Mean Girls.
