Shortly after Stephen Amell landed a lead role in NBC’s drama pilot Suits L.A., another major TV star agreed to hop on board. The Walking Dead alum Josh McDermitt will star opposite Amell in the Los Angeles-based spin-off of NBC’s hit legal drama Suits.

Suits L.A. will center on Ted Black (Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York, who reinvented himself as a big-shot lawyer in Los Angeles. He’s representing the most powerful clients in LA while working alongside a group of characters who can’t stop mixing their personal and professional lives.

McDermitt will join him in the role of Stuart Lane, described as energetic, powerful, focused, and self-absorbed. After Black moved to Los Angeles, he joined forces with Lane to open Black Lane Law, a law firm specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

Suits L.A. hails from executive producer and director Victoria Mahoney, and it will kick off production in Vancouver, Canada next month.

McDermitt is best known as Eugene Porter from The Walking Dead, and he’s been looking for the next big thing ever since this show ended its run in 2022. His TV credits also include minor roles in Mad Men, The Kids Are Alright, and Twin Peaks: The Return.
