Owen Wilson’s Apple TV+ golf comedy still doesn’t have a title, but that didn’t stop it from attracting some major talent. Judy Greer is the latest star to join this project, as the estranged wife of Wilson’s character.
This untitled comedy will center on Pryce Cahill, described as “an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.” He hits rock bottom after losing his wife and a job at an Indiana sporting goods store, so he decides to hedge his bets on a troubled 17-year-old golf prodigy.
Jason Keller created and wrote the ten-episode series for Apple TV+, while Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are on board to direct.
Jamie Neumann initially joined the series as Pryce’s ex-wife Amber-Linn, but eventually departed the project. Greer will step in for Neumann, and she joins the cast that also includes Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Peter Dager, and Lilli Kay, in addition to Wilson.
Greer is a prolific actress with over 150 credits to her name, and we’ve seen her star in several acclaimed TV projects in recent years. She was a part of the ensemble cast of the short-lived Hulu sitcom Reboot, in addition to staring in the historical mini-series The First Lady and White House Plumbers.
