According to Netflix’s official logline, this series will tell the story of how Julio Iglesias became the first major Spanish artist to enter the global markets and become one of the biggest record sellers in history.
The Spanish singer has high hopes for this project and he agreed to give it the green light after getting a very touching letter from Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria.
“After that many speculations, books, and documentaries in which I have not been involved, for the first time I have decided to tell the truth about my life to a universal company like Netflix,” said Iglesias in a press release.
This series is expected to include many wild twists and turns, because Iglesias embarked on quite a journey before becoming a successful singer, with 150 million records sold worldwide. He played in the youth ranks of Real Madrid before an injury put a stop to his football career and turned to studying law before deciding to give music a shot.
