Shortly after Dermot Mulroney joined Season 13 of Chicago Fire, the next season of NBC’s firefighter drama started rounding out its supporting cast. KaDee Strickland has been added to the cast in the role of the estranged wife of Mulroney’s character, the new fire chief Dom Pascal.

Strickland’s casting was announced shortly after Mulroney joined the cast following the exit of Eamonn Walker, who had played Battalion Chief Wallace Boden for 12 seasons. His character Dom Pascal will become the new fire chief at the CFD after spending the last decade working the same job in Miami.

Dom Pascal has been described as a cheerful person who works well under pressure, who also happens to be estranged from his wife – and that’s where Strickland comes in. She was cast as Monica Pascal, Dom Pascal’s estranged wife, joining the ensemble that also includes Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Miñoso, Christian Stolte, Daniel Kyri, Hanako Greensmith, and Jocelyn Hudon.

Strickland is no stranger to procedural dramas, having previously played Charlotte King on the ABC drama Private Practice. Her recent credits include a key role in the second season of Freeform’s teen mystery series Cruel Summer and a supporting part in the sci-fi drama The Time Capsule.
