
The Agency is shaping up to be one of Showtime’s most star-studded series in recent years, and another acclaimed actress just hopped on board. Katherine Waterston will star opposite Michael Fassbender in this espionage thriller based on the French drama The Bureau.
According to Showtime’s official logline, this series will center on a covert CIA agent Martian, who must return to London Station after being ordered to leave his undercover life behind.
“When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity, and his mission are pitted against his heart, hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage,” reads Showtimećs logline.
Michael Fassbender will lead the series as Martian, and he’ll be joined by Jeffrey Wright as his mentor Henry, Richard Gere as the London Station Chief Bosko, and Jodie Turner-Smith as Sami, a professor of social anthropology who has a history with Martian.
Katherine Waterston is the latest addition to the cast in the role of Naomi, the operations officer and ex-handler of Martian. She’s best known as the star of the Fantastic Beasts franchise and had previously starred alongside Fassbender in Steve Jobs. Her notable TV credits include roles in Boardwalk Empire, Perry Mason, and Slow Horses.
