In addition to being a successful actor, Kit Harington runs a successful production company, and he set his eyes on his next project. The Emmy-nominated actor will produce a “very British western” with the working title Empire of Dirt, with the potential of playing the lead role.

This eight-part series centers on Jake, who reluctantly returns to a distant cousin’s wedding in his hometown, after making it in the big city. He left home 15 years ago and never looked back following a tragic accident that forced him to face his father’s dark past.

Harington is producing this project alongside Thriker Films’ Daniel West, and they’ve described it as a “very British Western, set against the Lake District’s stunning visual backdrop.”

“The Galloways are a family fighting to survive, wrestling with their identity, trauma, and the burden of inheritance, as ancient traditions collide with the mores of modern Britain,” said the duo in a statement to Deadline.

Harington isn’t attached to this project as an actor, but casting is still underway and it’s possible he’d play the lead. He only took a few small TV roles after Game of Thrones wrapped up in 2019, but we’ll soon see him on the third season of the hit series Industry.
