HBO started plotting several potential spin-offs after Game of Thrones finished its run, but one of them is no longer in development. Kit Harington shared an update about his potential Jon Snow spin-off and said it’s “off the table”.

Kit Harington spent almost a decade playing Jon Snow and earned two Emmy nominations for his portrayal. He was the driving force behind the potential sequel series, which was first announced in 2022, but this project seems to be dead in the water.

He addressed its future in a recent interview with Screen Rent and said it’s “firmly on the shelf” for the time being.

“Currently, it’s off the table, because we all couldn’t find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being. There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no,” said Harington.

Despite scrapping the potential Jon Snow spin-off, HBO is going full steam ahead with several other Game of Thrones projects. House of the Dragon will return for its second season this year, while Knight of the Seven Kingdoms cast its leading duo just last week.
