The team behind Percy Jackson and the Olympians shared some exciting news at the D23 Expo, including the casting of the Gray Sisters. Kristen Schaal, Margaret Cho & Sandra Bernhard will join the series in Season 2 as Tempest, Wasp, and Anger.
These characters are inspired by the mythological sisters who share one eye and one tooth between them, but the similarities end there. They now operate a “taxi firm” in New York City known as the Chariot of Damnation, and each sister plays an important role in running this service.
Tempest (Schaal) is the one who currently uses the eye to watch the heroes and read their futures, Wasp (Cho) is the main taxi driver taking the demigods on a wild ride to Camp Half-Blood, while Anger (Bernhard) is in charge of collecting fares, while impatiently waiting for her turn to use the eye.
This trio joins the cast led by Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries, who shared a brief teaser of Season 2 at the D23. They were joined by fellow series regulars Charlie Bushnell and Dior Goodjohn, plus Daniel Diemer, who joined the cast as Tyson the Cyclops at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on Rick Riordan’s book The Sea of Monsters, and it’s eying a 2025 release date.
