Several acclaimed actors joined USA Network’s new series The Rainmaker in recent weeks, and Lana Parrilla is the next one in line. She’ll star opposite John Slattery in this legal drama adaptation of John Grisham’s bestselling novel.
The Rainmaker will center on a young Rudy Baylor, whose first case turns out to be more complex than he anticipated. He ends up uncovering two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of the client’s son alongside his boss and her disheveled paralegal while facing courtroom lion Leo Drummond and his law school girlfriend Sarah Plankmore.
Milo Callaghan will lead the cast as Rudy Baylor, and he’ll be joined by John Slattery and Madison Iseman. Lana Parrilla is the latest addition to the ensemble and her character Jocelyn “Bruiser” Stone is a brash and ballsy street lawyer, who’s leading the strip-mall law firm of her disgraced father, J. Lyman Stone.
Lana Parrilla is best known as Regina Mills aka The Evil Queen from the fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time, and she has several more notable TV credits to her name. She played one of the main roles in the second season of the anthology series Why Women Kill and recurred in the second season of Netflix’s legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer.
