Many beloved series that came out years and even decades ago experienced a true renaissance in the era of streaming, and Las Vegas will be the next one in line! NBC’s hit drama is finally getting its streaming release thanks to NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock.
Created by Gary Scott Thompson, Las Vegas ran on NBC between 2003 and 2008, and it took us straight to the heart of the bustling Las Vegas Strip. It was set within the walls of a fictional casino the Montecito and followed its employees as they dealt with countless issues on different levels of management, primarily casino security.
The series was led by James Caan in the role of Montecito’s head of security Ed Deline and Josh Duhamel as his right-hand man Danny McCoy. The supporting cast included Nikki Cox, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, Marsha Thomason, and Tom Selleck.
NBC canceled Las Vegas in 2008 due to declining ratings, but this series will finally get the chance to continue its life on Peacock. NBCUniversal’s streamer will make all five seasons available on December 29. According to Deadline’s report, most shows that aired before the late 2000s must go through an extensive music-clearing process before heading to streaming, and that’s most likely why it took so long for Las Vegas to finally get its Peacock debut.
