Netflix is currently plotting the long-awaited fourth season of The Witcher, and they found the perfect actor to play one of the fan-favorite characters. The Oscar nominee Laurence Fishburne will join this epic fantasy series in the role of Regis.

Regis was introduced in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel Baptism of Fire as a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt of Rivia on his journey. The acclaimed actor confirmed his casting by releasing a statement that reads, “I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher.”

The Witcher will experience quite an overhaul in Season 4, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill. Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Mimî M. Khayisa, Anna Shaffer, and Royce Pierreson are some of the stars expected to return in the upcoming season.

Fishburne is a great addition to The Witcher cast since he has a great track record as a TV actor. In addition to winning an Emmy for his guest role in TriBeCa during the 90s, he also played key roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hannibal, and Black-ish. On the movie side, he most recently starred in John Wick: Chapter 4 and will next appear in Francis Ford Coppola’s star-studded sci-fi epic Megalopolis.
