Rachel Sennott is getting ready to lead HBO’s comedy pilot about a group of codependent friends, and she’ll be in pretty good company. Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell are the latest additions to the ensemble cast of this promising project.
According to HBO’s official logline, this untitled comedy pilot will see “a codependent friend group reunite, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.”
Sennott, the star of Bodies Bodies Bodies and Bottoms who previously collaborated with HBO on The Idol, serves as the writer and executive producer of this series. Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers are also joining her as EPs, along with Lorene Scafaria who’ll direct the pilot.
Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker have previously been added to the cast of this project, and they’ll now be joined by Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell.
Meester is best known as the star of the cult teen drama Gossip Girl, and her recent TV credits include sitcoms Single Parents and How I Met Your Father and sci-fi comedy The Orville. As for Blackwell, this series will mark the professional acting debut for the social media star, who recently appeared in Charli XCX’s music video for “360” alongside Sennott.
