HBO’s limited series DTF St. Louis is shaping up to be one star-studded affair, and another major star just joined its impressive cast. Linda Cardellini will star opposite Jason Bateman and David Harbour in this high-profile project about a complicated love triangle with deadly consequences.

According to HBO’s official logline, DTF St. Louis chronicles “a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-age malaise, that leads to one of them ending up dead.” When this series was first announced, it was supposed to be based on James Lasdun’s New Yorker article “My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation”, but that idea was eventually scrapped.

Steven Conrad serves as writer, showrunner, and director of this seven-episode series, in addition to executive producing it alongside Jason Bateman and David Harbour. Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Molly Allen, Bruce Terris, Michael Costigan, and Kristina Wenson are also coming on board as EPs.

Cardellini joined the project in the role of Carol, in one of her first major TV roles since Netflix’s black comedy Dead to Me ended its run. She’s a three-time Emmy nominee, whose notable TV credits also include roles in Mad Men, Freaks and Geeks, and Bloodline, and she’ll next be seen in Netflix’s star-studded dark comedy No Good Deed.
