The second season of the hit CW series Walker premiered last week, and the season premiere was followed by unexpected news about one of its key cast members. Linsey Morgan, who played co-lead opposite Jared Padalecki, is set to exit the series.

Morgan cited “personal reasons” as the reason behind her shocking departure from the series, and expressed gratitude to the producers, CBS Studios, and The CW for supporting her difficult decision to step away from the role of Micki Ramirez.

“The opportunity to play Micki has truly been a blessing as has working alongside the incredible cast and crew of this terrific series. Please know that I will continue to root for my TV family and wish them all the best,” said Morgan in an official statement.

Padelicki also released a statement following her exit, describing Morgan as “a wonderful person, inside and out” and said he’s proud and grateful for her work on this series.

Walker serves as the reboot of the 1990s western drama television series Walker, Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris. Morgan was part of the cast since day one, and she joined Padalecki in the role of Walker’s new partner in the Texas Rangers.
