NCIS: Los Angeles may be over, but its main character Sam Hanna isn’t going anywhere. LL Cool J is getting ready to keep spreading the aloha after making a cameo in Season 2 of NCIS: Hawai’i and officially joining the series as a recurring guest star in Season 3.
LL Cool J’s character was introduced to the NCIS universe via a two-part backdoor pilot aired during the sixth season of the flagship series. CBS promptly picked up the spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles, with Sam Hanna serving as one of its main characters.
NCIS: Los Angeles stayed on the air for 14 seasons before ending its run this Sunday. Fans believed this would be the last we’ll see of Sam Hanna, but LL Cool J surprised the audience by appearing in the Season 2 finale of NCIS: Hawai’i and agreeing to return as a guest star in the next season.
LL Cool J is a welcomed addition to this series, and executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, and Christopher Silber welcomed him with open arms.
“All of us at NCIS: Hawai’i have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three,” the trio said in a statement.
