Lucifer is getting one last life.
Netflix has decided to renew the series about the fallen angel for a fifth season — but this will be its last.
The show found a new home with the streaming service this year after fans campaigned online to save the series after Fox canceled it at the end of the third season.
Following its fourth season which premiered on May 8th (and ended with a huge cliffhanger!), Netflix has decided to give the show an opportunity to wrap up with a fifth and final installment.
“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich said in a statement. “Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!!”
Lucifer’s official Twitter account confirmed the news, sharing a video of lead actor Tom Ellis.
The final season is expected next year.
