The CW series aired the final episode that Luke Perry filmed before his untimely death.
The actor, who rose to fame in the 90s on Beverley Hills, 90210, suffered a stroke at his Los Angeles home on the 27th of February. He then suffered a second stroke, leading to his death on the 4th of March.
Perry’s final Riverdale scene was filmed several months ago and featured on episode 19 of season three.
The scene, although short, has all the elements which made Perry a lovable, supportive on-screen father as he shares a moment with his TV son Archie, played by KJ Apa.
“This week’s Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed,” showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa wrote on Twitter. “As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…”
