Each season of Bridgerton puts the love story of a different sibling front and center, and it’s finally Benedict’s time to shine in the spotlight. Luke Thompson’s character will officially front the highly-anticipated fourth season of Netflix’s hit period drama.
Benedict Bridgerton was somewhat of a comic relief over the course of the first three seasons, but a change is afoot. He’ll finally enter the marriage mart and search for Lady in Silver, a mysterious woman he met at his mother’s masquerade ball.
Benedict’s love story was at the center of the third book in the Bridgerton series, titled An Offer from a Gentleman. Showrunner Jess Brownell made a pretty controversial decision to skip it and move to Colin and Penelope’s story in Season 3, but that wasn’t a coincidence.
“It felt important for [Benedict] to explore the fullness of himself before he settles down. He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode,” Brownell told Tudum.
Luke Thompson will lead Season 4 as Benedict Bridgerton, and he said that his character will finally be “trying to find something a bit more solid in himself” after feeling a little lost.
