Macaulay Culkin’s film and TV roles are few and far between these days, and it’s always special seeing him accept a new project. Home Alone star is gearing up to join the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s hit video game adaptation Fallout in a key recurring role.

According to Prime Video’s official logline, Fallout is set in “the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters that are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.” The show’s first season was met with positive reactions and received 17 Emmy nominations, including a nod for the outstanding drama series.

Culkin will be a part of the Season 2 cast, and his character has been described as a crazy genius type. He joins the ensemble cast that also includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Walton Goggins, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, and Frances Turner.

Culkin is one of the biggest child stars of his generation, who rose to prominence with roles in Home Alone and My Girl during the ’90s. He took a prolonged hiatus from acting during the mid-90s and mostly played supporting roles in indie films after making his return to acting. He also made guest appearances in TV shows Dollface, American Horror Story: Double Feature, and The Righteous Gemstones.
