We can count on Netflix’s You to introduce some amazing new characters each season, and the show’s final chapter will be no exception. The Handmaid’s Tale star Madeline Brewer will star opposite Penn Badgley in the fifth season of Netflix’s psychological drama.

You took us on quite a journey since we first met Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager with dark secrets, who’s ready to do whatever it takes to insert himself into the lives of people he’s transfixed by. The show’s fourth season shifted the setting and took us to London, where Joe assumed a new identity as the English professor Jonathan Moore, working at a posh university.

Madeline Brewer will join Season 5 as an enigmatic and free-spirited playwright Bronte working at Joe’s bookstore. They connect over literature and loss, and she awakens new feelings in Joe, causing him to question everything his life has become and reconnect with his former self.

Brewer got her big break while playing Janine Lindo in Hulu’s hit series The Handmaid’s Tale. This role earned her a nomination for an Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actress, and she’ll reprise it in the show’s final season. She’s also attached to thriller Anniversary starring Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, and Zoey Deutch.
