Owen Wilson is getting ready to lead the new Apple TV+ series set in the world of professional golf, and he found a perfect partner in crime. Marc Maron has been tapped to play Wilson’s best friend in this promising series, which hails from writer Jason Keller.

The untitled series will center on Pryce Cahill, an ex-pro golfer who was forced to prematurely end his career 20 years ago. He hits rock bottom after losing his job at a sporting goods store, so he decides to put all of his energy into a troubled teen golf prodigy.

Peter Dager previously joined the series as the 17-year-old golf phenom, and he’s no longer Wilson’s only golf buddy. Marc Maron has been cast as Mitts, Pryce’s best friend, who once used to be his caddy.

This series received a 10-episode order at Apple TV+ and it hails from writer Jason Keller and Little Miss Sunshine directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris.

Marc Maron is best known as the star of the Netflix wrestling series GLOW and his own IFC sitcom Maron, which saw him play a fictionalized version of himself. He currently hosts a popular podcast WT- with Marc Maron, and we’ve recently seen him in films To Leslie and Genie.
