Hulu brought several acclaimed true-life limited series our way, and one of their latest will chronicle the journey of Amanda Knox. The Emmy nominee Margaret Qualley will star in this series about Knox’s journey to prove she was wrongfully convicted of her friend’s murder.
Knox first made the headlines in 2007, when she was convicted of murdering fellow exchange student Meredith Kercher, with whom she shared an apartment in Perugia. She spent a full four years behind bars in Italy following her wrongful conviction and was eventually acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court.
This limited series will chronicle “her 16-year odyssey to set herself free”, and it will be led by Margaret Qualley. KJ Steinberg (This Is Us, Gossip Girl) serves as writer and executive producer of this project, alongside Qualley, Knox, Chris Robinson, Monica Lewinsky, plus Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, and Graham Littlefield of The Littlefield Company.
Qualley hasn’t taken any major TV roles since her Emmy-nominated turn in the Netflix limited series Maid, but her schedule has been pretty packed, nevertheless. She most recently starred in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things and Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls and will next appear in the body horror The Substance before reuniting with Lanthimos in Kinds of Kindness.
